The bishop's festive clothes

Without a bishop no consecration, without consecration no cathedral. A medieval bishop exercised an important office, not only when there was a cathedral to consecrate. We invite the children to slip into the role of a bishop themselves. In doing so, they learn about the duties of a bishop and the significance of the individual ritual garments. Festively dressed up like a bishop and his court, they will go on an exciting search for traces of the Merseburg bishops. Inspired by the splendor of the bishop's precious clothing, we will then get creative ourselves and design a magnificent miter, decorated with dazzling gemstones and borders.
